Japan has given a 27.5 million dollars grant to Ethiopia for the construction of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) human resource development centre with four-storey and a basement intended to assist in Kaizen.
The signing of the grant agreement was carried out between Admasu Nebebe, state minister for Finance & Economic Cooperation, Akira Uchida, Charge d’affairs ad interim at the embassy of Japan in Ethiopia, and Ken Yamada, chief representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Ethiopia.
The agreement was signed at the premises of the Ministry located on King George Avenue on Mach 30, 2018.
During the ceremony, Uchida commended and expressed his appreciation to the Ethiopian government and the designated authorities who made efforts in disseminating Ethiopia’s kaizen activities as well as the realisation of the project.
In 1993, Japan launched TICAD conferences with the main objectives of promoting dialogue between African leaders and development partners. The project was committed to Ethiopia in 2014 during the visit of Shino Abe, prime minister of Japan.
