About CFSP:
CNFA is about to begin implementing for a three-year USAID-funded Commercial Farm Service Center – Scale Up Support Program. This program will work hand-in-hand with the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA) to create 44 new Farm Service Centers (FSCs) throughout Oromia, Amhara, Tigray and SNNPR. These FSCs will serve as private, retail input supply and farm service businesses and will serve as an innovative and replicable model for scaling up private farm supply and service networks in Ethiopia and throughout Africa. In addition, CFSC-SUSP will also work to strengthen the Addis-based EGAA Agricultural Input Suppliers PLC (EGAA), which was formed under the Commercial Farm Service Program and has been designed to streamline the inventory needs of the enterprises so as to access bulk discounts with multinational suppliers.
Position Description:
Working under direct supervision of the Officer Manager and Volunteer Coordinator, theDriver and Facilities Clerk will undertake multiple responsibilities. As a Driver, he/she will be responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation service to program staff and visitors, maintaining that the assigned project vehicle is in good operating condition and performing minor preventative auto maintenances. As a Facilities Clerk, he/she will be responsible for assisting in office administration tasks, including equipment acquisition and maintenance. He/she must be able to work with minimum supervision and must have strong interpersonal skills, personal integrity, honesty, and pleasant personality. The position requires frequent travel to program implementation sites.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The main duties of the Driver and Facilities Clerkare to:
- Serve as driver of the project vehicle, strictly observing traffic laws, sound safety procedures, and courtesy towards passengers, pedestrians and other vehicles at all time
- Ensure the project vehicle is in good operating condition, promptly informing the Office Manager of the necessary repairs and any other matters related to the operation of the vehicle
- Maintain the project vehicle in good order at all times – cleaning, washing, polishing, tightening and other minor maintenance tasks as specified in the daily/weekly checklist or user’s manual
- Maintain vehicle log and submit to his/her immediate supervisor on time
- Ensure the vehicle is parked in a safe and properly designed parking area
- Promptly and accurately complete and submit all reports required in connection with travel, maintenance, accidents and expenses
- Provide support in maintaining office equipment, furniture, other project property as well assisting in the transportation of cash to/from the bank.
- Perform any other duties as required and/or assigned by the Chief of Party, Deputy Chief of Party and Officer Manager and Volunteer Coordinator
