Associate, Investigation and Enforcement
 

With duty station at Addis Ababa-Head office and reporting to Manager, Investigation and Enforcement, you will be responsible to:
JOB PURPOSE
Oversees compliance is maintained with the relevant laws and regulations at all levels and by the Exchange, Members and clients.  Investigates any breaches in compliance and prepares investigation reports. Provides day to day legal advice on the Exchange’s activities to the Exchange departments and units.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supports to oversee compliance is maintained with the relevant laws and regulations at all levels and  by the Exchange, Members and clients;
  • Assists in ensuring technical standards for departmental work and compliance;
  • Reviews and approves membership applications;
  • Investigates any breaches in compliance and prepares investigation reports ;
  • Prepares charges for Business Conduct Committee decision on the basis of Investigation Reports and follows up enforcement;
  • Attends and supervises trading sessions of the Exchange to advise and follow up trading activities and to solve trade infractions on the spot;
  • Follows up Market Surveillance reports on Members’ trading activities and market trends;
  • Assists in carrying out inspection of Members books and accounts through Member periodic reports as well as on-site inspection visits to Members firms;
  • Assist in undertaking internal operations compliance reviews & regularly submits trade reports to Ministry of Trade;
  • Conducting compliance training for members, clients, representative, relevant Government officers and the Exchange staff and prepares monthly activity reports;
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Job Requirements:

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • LLB & 3 years of relevant experience, other degrees in business areas is an asset;
  • Experience in judiciary, prosecution and/or investigation related fields.
  • Knowledge on commercial and business laws;
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skill and team work orientation;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Good report writing, problem analysis and problem solving skills;
  • Skilled on working with Microsoft Office (word, excel).
