Ethiopian Investment Advisory Facility – Adam Smith International in Partnership with First Consult  

The UK's Department for International Development (DFID) is considering procurement of a supplier to administer a facility which will be called the ‘the Ethiopian Investment Advisory Facility’ or ‘EIAF’. 

DFID is planning a 5 year project to support the Government of Ethiopia to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its public investment. DFID proposes that the EIAF focuses on improving the effectiveness of public investment in Ethiopia which comprises four main pillars: urban development, power, trade logistics and cross-cutting issues. 

Adam Smith International (ASI) in partnership with First Consult intend to bid for the facility requested and are accordingly inviting submission of appropriate CVs to enter into contract employment. The employment will only be binding contingent on the bid award to the partners. These consultants would have the technical skills and expertise to support the improvement of the investment climate in the urban, power, trade logistics, as well as cross cutting public and private sectors. 

Job Requirements:

  • Extensive experience of trade and trade logistics in Ethiopia including in port management, freight forwarding, railways and roads infrastructure, customs procedures and trade regulations; 
  • Expertise in trade policy, regulation, finance and economics, and/or senior management in export logistics; 
  • Previous experience of providing consulting services to public and private sector clients, including providing technical assistance, institutional and capacity building support; 
  • At least 10 – 15 years of professional experience; 
  • Experience of working with relevant government ministries is an advantage including for example the Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics Enterprise (ESLSE), the Ethiopian Investment, the Ethiopian Revenue and Custom Authority (ERCA), Ministry of Transport and Communication.
