Addis Abeba Abattoir Enterprise normally butchers 500 to 1,200 cattle per month, with a significant increase during holidays. For example 4,000 animals were butchered to meet the market demand for meat during the Easter celebration of 2015. Of the 4000, 2,500 were oxen while 1,500 were sheep.
